What Is a Dragon Roll?

Dragon roll sushi is a popular kind of sushi that is rolled with the rice on the outside (it is an Uramaki roll). It's made with tempura shrimp, cucumber, and avocado - yum!

What You'll Need

You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make this easy recipe, so let's round them up and get started!

Add Rice to the Nori

Place your nori on the rolling mat and spread half of the sushi rice onto it.

Add the Sushi Ingredients

Flip the nori over so that the rice is facing down, and add 3-4 pieces of shrimp, some cucumber, and some tobiko.

Roll the Sushi

Starting at the bottom edge, gently pinch and press the roll with the mat. Repeat this process with the second roll.

Place the Avocado on Top

Add your sliced avocado to the top of your sushi. Wrap the roll in plastic, cover it with the bamboo mat, and carefully squeeze.


Serve your dragon roll with Japanese mayo, tobiko, and black sesame seeds.
