Crispy Shrimp Tempura

 What Is Tempura?

Tempura is a style of dish that comes from Japan. It consists of food (seafood or vegetables, usually) that is dipped in batter and deep-fried to create a thin, crispy coating!

You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make this easy recipe, so let's round them up and get started!

Prepare the Shrimp

Lightly cover both sides of the shrimp with flour and lay it in a single layer.

Make the Batter

Combine the egg and water, then stir in the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Add in ice cubes to keep the batter cold when the oil reaches the correct temperature (375F).

Fry the Shrimp

Dip each shrimp into the batter and make sure it is completely coated. Fry for 2-3 minutes, until the shrimp is golden brown. Drain them on paper towels.

Make the Sauce

Stir together all of the sauce ingredients until smooth.

Serve and Enjoy!
