What is Pork Katsu?

Set Up Breading Station

Sprinkle both sides of the pork with salt & pepper. Then place flour in one dish, beaten eggs in another, and panko breadcrumbs in a third dish.

Bread the Pork

Coat pork cutlets in flour, dip them in beaten eggs, and then press them into panko breadcrumbs, evenly coating both sides.

Fry the Pork

Heat vegetable oil in a pan and fry the breaded pork about 4-5 minutes on each side. Then drain excess oil.

Make the Tonkatsu Sauce

In a small bowl, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, mirin, white sugar, and garlic powder.

Enjoy!

Slice the pork into thick strips and serve with shredded cabbage. Drizzle tonkatsu sauce over top, or on the side as a dipping sauce.
