This easy recipe features ultra soft rolls that are stuffed with a sweet and buttery cinnamon swirl, then topped with creamy caramel!
You'll only need a few simple ingredients to make this easy recipe, so let's round them up and get started!
Heat some water and sprinkle the yeast over the top. Set aside for 5 minutes.
In a small saucepan, melt the shortening in water.
Mix together shortening/water mixture, sugar, salt, eggs, yeast mixture, and flour in a stand mixer until a soft dough forms.
Place the dough in an oil-coated bowl and let rise in a warm place for about an hour.
Heat the brown sugar, cream, butter, corn syrup, and water just until it starts to bubble.
Then divide the caramel between two 9×13″ baking pans.
Roll dough into two rectangles, brush with melted butter, then sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
Starting with the wide side of the dough rectangle, roll the dough up tightly and pinch the seam to seal it.
Cut each dough roll into 12 equal slices and place them, cut sides up, in the pans with caramel.
Let the dough rise again in a warm place until doubled in size.
Bake at 350° F until lightly browned, about 30 minutes.
Let the rolls rest for about 30 minutes, then serve them straight from the pan!
