This Strawberry Margarita recipe has the purest, brightest strawberry flavor possible, thanks to an easy-to-make fresh strawberry puree. With just a few ingredients, this drink is fruity, tart, and sweet - the perfect refreshing summer cocktail!
Ingredients
For the Strawberry Puree (enough for 2 margaritas)
1cupdiced fresh strawberries
¼cupwater
2teaspoonsgranulated sugar
For the Margarita
2ouncesblanco tequila
3ouncesstrawberry puree
1ouncefreshly squeezed lime juice
1ounceorange liqueur
Instructions
For the strawberry puree:Using an immersion blender or high speed blender, blend strawberries, water, and sugar together until completely smooth.
For the margarita: Fill a rocks glass with ice.
Add tequila, strawberry puree, lime juice, and orange liqueur to a cocktail shaker. Add ice and shake 45 seconds to combine, plus perfectly chill and dilute.
Strain margarita into prepared glass and garnish with a fresh strawberry and sprig of mint. For additional lime tartness, squeeze a lime wedge over the top and plop the wedge into the glass. Enjoy immediately.
Notes
To remove the strawberry seeds from the fresh puree (optional): Set a fine mesh strainer over a medium sized bowl. Pour the puree into the strainer and stir it with a spoon until all of the liquid has passed through the strainer and only the seeds remain. Discard the seeds. Set aside until ready to use. If your strainer isn't fine enough to catch the seeds, line the strainer with cheesecloth first.To salt the glass rim (optional): Fill a small bowl with water and another small bowl with coarse salt. Dip the rim of your glass into the water and then into the salt. Or run the cut edge of a lime wedge around the rim and dip the wet rim into a bowl of course salt.
