Graham Caramel Nut Squares
Need a quick baked treat that packs a fresh from the oven, homemade punch?
These Graham Caramel Nut Squares are so simple. And simply irresistible!
Although they might appear a bit unassuming, even when piled high, they are truly their own best kept secret. These crunchy treats, loaded with a buttery caramel crunch, are boast worthy material.
This recipe was floating around the office a number of years ago, held high with tons of praise, promising to be a keeper. And my family fell pretty hard for it. I’ve since made a few changes to that original recipe, but it’s still all about being simple and simply irresistible.
Graham Caramel Nut Squares
Need a quick baked treat that packs a fresh from the oven, homemade punch? These Graham Caramel Nut Squares are the buttery baked good calling your name!
Ingredients
- Graham crackers, enough to make a single layer on a jellyroll pan
- 3/4 c. finely chopped pecans
- 1 c. butter
- 1/2 c. sugar
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 325°.
- Cover a jellyroll pan with heavy duty aluminum foil and then spray generously with cooking spray. Cover with a single layer of graham crackers, broken into desired sizes. Fit them as snugly together as you can. This is a great job for kids!
- Combine the butter and sugar in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a boil and boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and pour evenly over the graham crackers. Sprinkle the chopped pecans over the crackers. Put the pan in the oven and bake for 12 to 15 minutes. Remove from oven and let cool for 10 minutes in the pan. Remove cracker pieces, breaking apart as needed, to wax paper. Cool to room temperature. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
